This is an example of a dutch pour. This technique involves applying a base layer of paint, then pouring contrasting colors on top. The artist uses air, often from a hairdryer or blowing through a straw, to spread the paint, creating soft, fluid effects.

If you use a “dirty” cup pour, multiple paint colors are layered in a single cup without mixing. The contents are then poured onto the canvas, resulting in unpredictable and vibrant designs.

In the open cup technique, an open cup is placed on the canvas, and paint is poured into it. As the cup is lifted and moved, the paint flows out, forming intricate patterns and cells.

The swipe approach involves applying paint to the canvas and then using a tool, such as a palette knife or paper towel, to swipe across the surface. This action blends the colors and often produces intricate cells and lacing effects.
